The Academy International British Primary School (AIBPS) is an independent and accredited International English speaking school in Pointe-Noire, one which meets the needs of internationally mobile and expatriate families, as well as local families, who want their children to have an enhanced education with English as the language of instruction. We welcome students from Nursery (2-3 years) to Primary (4-11 years) and from Year 7 to Year 12 (12-16 years). Although it is one of a few International schools in Pointe-Noire, it is undoubtedly the best.

Expatriate families who enrol their children into our school can be assured that when their children move to another country and enrol in another English speaking International School, there will be a smooth academic transition.

The school follows the statutory programmes of study and attainment targets of the National curriculum of England. Periodic reviews and audits ensure all systems and policies are current, relevant and effective.

The school is located at 26 rue de Tchicaya, U'Tam'Si, MPITA. The premises at MPITA boast spacious recreational areas and 21st Century classrooms. In addition, the school offers a library of diverse reading materials and resources, a fully functioning interactive computer laboratory, an Arts, Music and Drama facilities and specialist learning spaces. Gym equipment and a sandpit are utilized daily during play. The school grounds are secure, clean, spacious and attractive. Security Guards are stationed at their posts providing added security and safety for the children at all times.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the curriculum that governs the teaching and learning of children from 2-5 years, which fluidly transitions into the National Curriculum of England that caters for students aged from 5-11. The International Primary Curriculum is a satellite curriculum that is used to supplement and provide a more theme-based scaffold.

AIBPS promotes the awareness and use of technology throughout the learning experience.  A wireless network provides access to the Internet via desktop computers, laptops and iPads. Teachers and students alike utilize these technologies on a daily basis.

Our professional staff, teaching assistants and parent body, work together to provide a fluid 21st century learning model and to empower each child to realize the benchmark of such a vision. The governing creed of AIBPS is to challenge and inspire students to realize their potential, both academically and personally, in a stimulating and caring community, enabling them to become responsible and engaged citizens of the world.
